Today we are setting an ambitious goal. We need to raise $156,992 in three
days.

We close the books on our FEC report Thursday at midnight. Reporters as
well as potential opponents are going to examine our publicly-released
numbers closely to gauge how much grassroots support Team AOC has heading
into the next year.

If we can hit the goal, that’ll put us over $4 million for the quarter —
an impressive sum that speaks to the strength of our movement. The problem
is that we have been averaging about $15k per day for the past week. We
need to do about 3x that pace to hit our goal before Thursday, or else
we’ll fall short.

The reason we treat these FEC reporting deadlines with so much urgency is
that we know the media and politically powerful people are going to look
at the fundraising totals as a sign of whether or not support for our
movement and agenda is gaining strength or slowing down. Our grassroots
fundraising strength has always been something that they pay close
attention to.
