Dear John,

2020 has brought us a wide array of feelings. In this video, we tried to capture the feelings of shock, anger, fear, disappointment, relief, and achievement that many of us have experienced this year.

Here is a snapshot of some of what we saw in 2020:

Australia’s wildfires, which were active from June 2019-March 2020, burnt 46 million acres of land

The death of Qasem Soleimani led to days of unnerving tension between the United States and Iran

The impeachment trial of President Trump began and finished with his acquittal

The completion of Brexit after years of postponement finally became a reality

The vicious spread of COVID-19 brought upon a global shutdown and crashed markets

Social distancing and face mask wearing became the new normal

The murder of George Floyd led to a global movement of #BlackLivesMatter protests

The 2020 Belarusian presidential election led to a historic number of protests to call for free and fair elections

A massive explosion in Beirut, Lebanon killed over 200 people

California wildfires burnt over four million acres of land

The death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg led to the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett in the Supreme Court

Donald Trump tested positive for the coronavirus and made a controversial public appearance

A historic US election included a record number of mail-in ballots and declared Joe Biden to be the President-elect

The United Kingdom became the first nation to administer an approved COVID-19 vaccine

While the world was panicking, Students For Liberty was fighting harder than ever to have their voices heard. We ran a record number of online events and campaigns to draw attention to what our leaders have accomplished both on and off the ground.

Our leaders have proven that no matter what we are faced with, no matter the fear, no matter the chaos, and no matter what comes next, Students For Liberty will always find new ways to fight for freedom.

We hope you will find some moments here that deeply resonate with some of your experiences, while also allowing for some reflection and guidance in the New Year.

For us, 2020 marked a historic time for the fight for freedom.

Watch our video about the year that changed everything and let us know how this year has changed your life in the comments.
