Dear John, It has been a rough year. But there have also been some bright spots: children safely learning how to ride a bike on car-free Great Highway; casual dinner conversations and live music on streets which used to only echo with honks and tire screeches; transit priority at key choke points for Muni, allowing buses like the 14 Mission and the 19 Polk to get across the city more smoothly where car traffic has returned. The pandemic has forced us to experiment with what San Francisco could be if we prioritize people and community space over cars. But all these improvements are only temporary unless we fight for them to stay. |

In 2021, we’ll be asked to choose between a brighter, cleaner, and safer future or to go back to the snarling congestion of the past. We envision a future that prioritizes safe, livable cities with clean air and shared spaces. Where public spaces are prioritized for people. One where our recovery is led by clean, reliable, and safe transit for all. With the support of our members, San Francisco Transit Riders is fighting every day for a better future. Now - more than ever - is the time to take action. Become a member of San Francisco Transit Riders today to support our work in 2021 and shape the future of San Francisco.
