Dear John: The Georgia Senate runoff election is in exactly one week -- and all signs point to two incredibly close races.

This isn’t just about who represents Georgia, or which party controls the Senate. As the Gotham Gazette reports: “It’s not an exaggeration to say that tens of billions of dollars in pandemic-related aid to New York, and much more in terms of policy and future appropriations, could be on the line in Georgia.”

Make no mistake: These Georgia elections will have a direct impact on whether or not NYC will need to cut teachers next year. They'll affect whether or not we can keep our subway running.
