With only a couple days left in 2020, I have to admit that like many, I'm ready to put this year behind us. I'm also so hopeful for all of the possibilities 2021 holds.

President-elect Joe Biden and his administration will soon head to the White House promising a bold new agenda to build back our country. And already this month, we've seen the first COVID-19 vaccines get administered to New Jersey frontline health care workers.

Both are cause for celebration as we continue to fight this pandemic.

I am already working to ensure we start the New Year with a strong foot forward by advancing the legislation New Jerseyans and our country need, including measures to bolster our response to the pandemic, support servicemen and women, and protect our environment while better preparing our communities for potential natural disasters like floods.

I'm ready to make sure we hit the ground running in Congress in 2021. Now, I need to ask you to help our campaign do the same by contributing before the final FEC deadline of the year. If you can, chip in here →

Earlier this this month, I told you I was appointed to a bipartisan committee working to finalize this year's National Defense Authorization Action, and today, I'm proud to report that Congress passed the measure, which includes provisions to:

Bolster manufacturers' response to the coronavirus
Invest in advancing our country's technological developments
Provide tens of millions of dollars in funding for projects at the Picatinny Arsenal, the largest employer in NJ-11
Streamline the Defense Department's efforts to pursue environmental sustainability
Strengthen resources for veterans, including a pay increase, child care, retirement pay, and efforts to combat domestic violence in the military

I'm also working on measures to combat the devastation of repeat flooding in North Jersey. I'm proud to have secured provisions in a key bill we just passed in the House that would take steps to mitigate flooding and detect and prevent harmful algal blooms that are bad to both our environment and local businesses. I also introduced a bipartisan measure to improve forecasting to help our communities prepare for potential floods.

I'm committed to building on this important work in Congress in the New Year and tackling the challenges that face us head on, but I can't do it without the support of generous supporters like you. The FEC deadline is only two days away -- if you can, chip in now.
