Hi John,
I hope that you and your family are healthy and had a wonderful holiday.
You've probably guessed by now, but I need to ask you for a donation to my campaign before our massive public deadline.
But first, I want to give you an explanation about our goals and to tell you why this is so important. This is a much longer email than usual, but I want to be fully transparent with you, John. So here's where we stand:
Earlier this month, my campaign team and I sat down and went over a new budget and set our goals for the next year. This new budget is going to allow us to reach more progressives and rally support around the issues that matter to working families — issues like affordable housing, generous COVID-19 relief, access to affordable health care, and economic justice. We know that Congress isn't going to budge unless there is a massive movement that fights for what's right. Our budget allows us to organize and empower progressives into an effort so big that Congress can't ignore it.
But here's the problem: Due to COVID-19, we've decided that it wouldn't be safe to hold in-person fundraisers like we normally would.
These events normally make up a big part of our fundraising plan. I personally really enjoy getting to meet supporters face-to-face, so this is especially hard for me.
Thankfully, there is one key saving factor in this: you, John.
Grassroots and online donors like you keep our progressive movement going. And now, more than ever, I need your help and your support.
John, I'm asking you to be generous now. We're still $2,310 short of our first public fundraising goal, and if we fall short, our ability to make an impact will be diminished. Please, can you spare $3 or anything right now?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

I'm so grateful for your support,
