Hi,
Y'all, it's been a rough year. Our communities have been put through the wringer. But you want to know what gives me hope for 2021?
It's seeing all these little girls looking at their tv screens in awe and excitement because they finally see someone who looks like them on the biggest stage in the world. That moment is what I call hope.
Hope for more change, hope that things will get better, and hope that we will never stop fighting for each other.
In less than a month, Kamala Harris will become the first Black and South Asian woman to serve as our vice president. I don't need to tell you how freaking HUGE this is and it's only the beginning.
We all know it: we need more women of color in leadership roles, and we need more girls of color growing up knowing that every path is open to them. Being able to see ourselves in our role models is often the difference between accepting a closed door, or pushing through it to chase our dreams. Kamala kicked those doors wide open and as a first generation Bengali-American woman, I can't wait to see what we can do next.
That's exactly why I love being a part of this community -- it's because we are pushing for those kinds of victories every single day. Our movement has helped elect amazing Democratic women of color across Texas. I know that if we keep at it, we will win bigger and bigger.
However, to get there, we need to be all in. We need to believe in Texas and each other because that is the fuel of this movement. That's why I'm asking for your support right now. Can you contribute $7 to help us start strong in 2021?

Y'all are the absolute best -- I can't wait to keep working together for a blue Texas in the new year.
I'll see you around!
