Dear John,
With your support, this year we’ve been able to do our part to help Texas kids and families get through the COVID pandemic.
Working with our partners, we stopped state cuts to health services for moms and kids, fought for federal funding for children, shined a light on racial disparities, and helped child care, ECI, and other programs for kids keep going — safely — during the pandemic.
We’ve also been working hard to make sure that kids are a priority as state leaders address COVID during the upcoming legislative session.
There are so many urgent issues for legislators to address. The pandemic has disrupted learning in pre-k and other early grades, including for young English learners. It’s undermined student mental health. It’s knocked families off their health insurance. And it has posed new challenges for critical services ranging from foster care to Early Childhood Intervention to child abuse prevention.
With your help, we’ll make real progress on these challenges in 2021 and help Texas kids and families get through these difficult times.
