To finish off this year in review, we're taking a look back at the most impactful event of the year: COVID-19. Throughout the crisis, Governor John Bel Edwards has guided our state with steadiness, poise, and most importantly: science . Like Governor Edwards, A Stronger Louisiana believes that facts should determine how leaders deal with public health crises. As of December 2020, nearly 300,000 Louisianans have tested positive for COVID-19 and sadly we've lost nearly 7,000 of our friends, family members, and neighbors. These statistics illustrate just how grave the COVID-19 pandemic truly is. Fortunately for Louisiana, we have a Governor who takes COVID-19 seriously. Governor Edwards understands that for far too many Louisiana families the pain caused by COVID-19 is all too real. That's why he has refused to let conspiracies and partisan ideologies drive how Louisiana tackles this public health crisis. He knows this is just too important.

Our Governor's actions have saved lives. Now under his leadership our state has launched a campaign to vaccinate the people of Louisiana so we can bring this pandemic to an end. The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us all that partisan ideologies are no substitutes for good, common sense leadership. But we're not out of the woods yet.

There are still some politicians who are fighting to undo Governor Edwards' science-based COVID-19 measures.
