Big Tech facilitates sexual exploitation, but that's about to change.

It's Time to End Big Tech's Complicity in Sexual Exploitation
Dear Friend,
We don’t have to resign ourselves to living in a society where sexual violence runs rampant as massive corporations and big tech companies profit off of the exploitation of human beings.
In fact, not only do we not have to resign ourselves to that fate, we can turn it on its head.
Over the last 18 months, the fight against sexual exploitation has shifted into high gear. Stunning victories over big technology corporations such as Google has put the industries that profit from sexual exploitation on notice, and now they’re fighting for all they’re worth to retake the ground they’ve lost. Already they are gearing up by spending millions of dollars on lawyers and lobbyists as they prepare for legal battles such as challenging the FOSTA-SESTA legislation that we successfully helped champion to finalization and passage in 2018.
FOSTA-SESTA was a huge victory, one that you played no small role in making happen through your generosity, but the war is far from over. Even so, the victories keep rolling in for the movement to end exploitation as we have made significant headway with Snapchat in regards to making their platform safer for users—minors in particular—and we worked with the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to hold a hearing on “Protecting Innocence in a Digital World” for which we submitted powerful written testimony and evidence that furthered the case for holding big tech companies accountable for the apps they create that feature and/or facilitate sexual exploitation.
Momentum is shifting, but there is so much more that still needs to be done. Already we pour over $30,000 worth of resources into the work we do for the online protection of children alone, yet that investment is dwarfed by the amount that the pro-sexual exploitation camp is spending to protect its “assets” and ability to profit off of its victims.
We all need to stand up to them. Together.
I am sure you know that no other organization is making this kind of progress with tech companies as we are making digital spaces safer for the children and young adults in your life. We need additional staff, research, PR campaigns targeting the tech companies involved, and much more in order to take even bigger chunks out of these sexually exploitative industries.
Will you continue to support and be a part of this crucial work with your most generous contribution today? ([link removed])
Progress is happening so quickly on these issues! But that doesn’t mean it’s inevitable. We need your generous and immediate financial support to push forward and make a difference, together.
