Dear Friend,

2020 has been a year more challenging than any we’ve ever faced, and that
may be an understatement. As we look forward to a glimmer of light at the
end of the tunnel in 2021, we’re also reflecting on all we accomplished
this year, despite these incredible challenges.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build democracy and
fight for bold climate action in California. We are ready to take
advantage of the incredible opportunities your support is helping us
cultivate. Make your tax-deductible donation by the December 31st
deadline!

[ [link removed] ]Your tax-deductible donation to us is an investment in the fight to
stop the climate crisis.
In just ONE year, with your help, we have made a difference in:

* Protecting Our Future: We passed the historic federal conservation
legislation- the Great Outdoors Act- that fully and permanently funded
the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a conservation community goal 50
years in the making. We also helped secure a new state law to increase
penalties on oil companies that knowingly cause an oil spill. And we
helped create a new grant program so that schools can make much-needed
heating and cooling upgrades and replace aging water fixtures. In
2021, we’ll have a full slate of legislation we need your help
fighting for, as most climate action was kicked down the road in
2020.

* Building Democracy: We fought for and passed new state laws mandating
every registered voter to receive a ballot in the mail, requiring
ballot drop-off locations, and extending voting times. More than 17.5
million Californians voted in November, many for the very first time.
In 2021, we’ll fight to make these changes permanent.

* Building Regional Power: We launched new Leagues in the Central Valley
and Inland Empire. Change happens from the ground up and these new
Leagues are leading the way in organizing to build connected green
communities, starting at the local level. In 2021, with your support,
we can continue to expand throughout California.

And we’re just getting started, Friend.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why today we are asking friends, like you, to help us start 2021
strong by making a tax-deductible, end of year gift of $25 or more by
December 31st.

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We conduct public opinion research, shape the public narrative, organize with allies and local communities, educate legislators on the most pressing environmental issues of our day, and grow our movement and set a bold policy direction. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible. You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time:
