John --

It is truly disgusting to see powerful members of the Democratic
leadership spread outright lies about Justice Democrats just to defend the
fact that they take corporate PAC donations.

In recent days, establishment forces have ramped up their assault on
Justice Democrats — and you know, normally we wouldn’t care about that. We
can take the fire, and tension and conflict over policy and strategy can
lead to growth.

Here’s the issue: they’re spreading false claims about us, our movement,
our candidates, and people like you too. Just today, an anonymous member
of Democratic Party leadership said this:

This is the worst argument we’ve ever seen to justify selling out to Wall
Street banks, fossil fuel corporations, real estate developers, and
insurance companies.. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a bartender. Rashida
Tlaib had to raise her siblings. Ayanna Pressley had to drop out of
college to support her mother. Ilhan Omar was a refugee to this country.

Every single one of them refused corporate PAC donations and came up
through the bottom.

[ [link removed] ]We don’t have trust funds to fund campaigns. We have ordinary people
like you, chipping in a few dollars to radically revamp this democracy,
fight for families at the border, and stop these manipulative forces from
protecting corporate influence. Can you donate
$27
to help elect powerful champions today?

It’s deeply alarming that senior Democratic Party leaders and their aides
have been escalating attacks on a new generation of leaders in the party.
These leaders are advocating a stronger, more aggressive approach to
holding the Trump administration accountable to human rights abuses being
committed on the border and against immigrants. We need more leadership
from them and the people they represent, not less.

With ICE raids looming on Sunday, deaths of children at the border camps,
and a continued blank check for the administration’s racist deportation
machine, we need Democratic Party leaders to be much more focused on the
scale and urgency of the real crisis.

That’s why we can never stop fighting for representation and leadership
that takes no corporate money and fights back tirelessly for the people.

In solidarity

Justice Democrats
