Children are the ones who are feeling the deepest pangs of hunger. Help us support children and families facing starvation in Yemen, South Sudan and other countries. Triple your gift »

John: Hunger levels are spiking to unprecedented levels worldwide, and it's children who are bearing the brunt.

As food insecurity worsens in countries like Yemen and South Sudan, children are the ones who are feeling the deepest pangs of hunger. They are the ones whose fragile conditions could quickly deteriorate and become life-threatening.

Please make your 2020 tax-deductible gift to help us combat child malnutrition, fight COVID-19 and continue our life-changing programs around the world. Your gift today will be tripled, helping us make an even greater impact in the year ahead.

John, your gift, tripled today, will help us reach vulnerable families like Amina's.

When the drought in Somalia took hold, Amina had no choice but to leave her village and take her five children on a risky, two-day journey to Mogadishu—all in the midst of a pandemic.

Without working local farms, there was simply no food left to feed her children. She could see they were rapidly falling ill.

"It was very dry, very dry. There was no water, nothing to eat."
— Amina

Thankfully, with the compassionate support of people like you, Amina and her children were able to access an IRC health clinic in Mogadishu and receive essential nutrition services.

The clinic provided the children with health care, medicine and Plumpy'Nut, a vitamin-packed, protein-rich paste. During their recovery, Hafsa, the nurse at the IRC clinic, called Amina on a daily basis to check in on her children's progress, while also ensuring they continued to have the food and medicine they needed.

John, so many children and families like Amina's are in urgent need of your support. Your gift today — when tripled — can help us provide 3X the emergency aid they need at this critical time:
Right now, the threat of conflict, COVID-19 and climate change is leading to historic levels of hunger in multiple countries.

In Somalia, 70 percent of people reported in a recent IRC assessment that they did not have access to enough food. And in Yemen — a country already home to the world's worst humanitarian crisis — food insecurity has increased by 60 percent since April. This is driven by ongoing conflict, crippled global supply chains, skyrocketing food costs and severe weather shocks. In some areas, malnutrition for children under 5 was the highest ever recorded.

John, as this incredibly difficult year for children comes to an end, your tripled gift will help us swiftly scale up our work and deliver immediate aid wherever the need is greatest.

Thank you for helping refugee children and their families survive these unprecedented times.
