Dear Friends,

As we saw throughout this difficult year, the American Dream—the founding principles and freedoms which have drawn generations of immigrants to America seeking a better life—is under a coordinated attack.

Across the nation and in Washington, D.C., big government is back with a vengeance. Its proponents are exploiting the COVID-19 pandemic and a shamelessly bootlicking media to massively expand government’s role in the economy and in our daily lives.

But as I wrote to you earlier this month, we at the Pacific Research Institute are not content to cede this ground without a fight, and with your help, we are making plans and preparations to go on the offensive in 2021.

Foremost among these plans is combatting the dangerous and growing support for “Medicare for All” while promoting market-driven solutions and encouraging innovation in health care.

So, in 2021 we will launch an outreach campaign to educate the public on the dangers of President-elect Joe Biden’s stepping-stone approach to single-payer—a public health insurance option that would devastate private insurance. Along the way, it would force hospitals to close, drive up premiums, and ultimately lead to a government takeover of health insurance.

PRI’s Center for Health Care will stand its ground throughout Biden’s administration, rallying allies around the banner of America’s tradition of quality, accessible health care.

But we’re not going to stop there. With this year’s end of year campaign, Reclaiming the American Dream ([link removed]) , we are positioning ourselves to:
* Rollout new projects promoting the benefits of charter schools in an increasingly hostile environment
* Publish a new report on the rise of homeschooling in the wake of COVID-19
* Promoting a book examining the causes of and solutions to California’s epidemic of homelessness
* Expand our virtual events series
* Deploy PRI scholars to speak on college campuses and participate in debates

There is so much more for us to do, but our ability to execute on these crucial plans will depend on the success of this campaign to Reclaim the American Dream. Will you help PRI continue this urgent work?

Between now and 11:59 p.m. on December 31, your gift of $100, $250, $500 or even $1,000 or more can be wholly deducted from your 2020 taxes.

If you haven't already, I hope you will consider giving generously, to support our efforts to preserve freedom and economic opportunity in California and around the nation.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
