These are the working people who lost their jobs due to the economic fallout from the pandemic — people who expected more than just a single, $1,200 check in relief from the government that is supposed to represent them.

We targeted the corporate landlords that had the power and means to cancel rent and cease evictions immediately, without help from Congress. Not only did the Trump administration fail to protect everyday working people, it actually handed billions of dollars to Greystar Apartments, Blackstone, and Equity Residential through tax breaks — yet these behemoths chose to keep their profits instead of providing rent relief for folks out of work.
