Dear Friend,
The coronavirus pandemic will force many to celebrate this holiday season differently. Many won’t be able to travel and gather with their family members in the way they normally would. Seniors, who have been hit especially hard, may be isolated or may have to make difficult choices.
The pandemic has also shaped the work that we’ve done this year -- and we couldn’t have done it without your help. Because of you, we were able to call on Congress to include the needs of older Americans in all coronavirus relief packages and we held a national tele-town hall meeting to answer questions from our members about how to protect themselves with AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and Dr. Steven Albert of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.
We also advocated for seniors during the November election: working to elect hundreds of pro-retiree candidates, fighting to make it easier to vote by mail, and investing in public education initiatives.
We look forward to supporting policies on the Biden-Harris administration’s agenda, especially strengthening and expanding Social Security benefits. We will continue to fight to protect retirement security for all Americans.
We are confident with your continued support, we will succeed.
Thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Robert Roach, Jr.
President
