Dear Friend,

The end of a very challenging year is rapidly approaching, and the National
Trust for Historic Preservation needs your support. We recently announced an
ambitious goal of raising $100,000 by December 31, but we still have a long way
to go to reach it.

Your contribution ensures that historic places are part of America’s future.

All gifts will be MATCHED to help us reach our goal. Your gift of $100, $250, or
more will go twice as far toward saving historic places and passing on their
stories to the next generation. Can we add your support to our total? Become a
member today.

In just a few short days, 2020 will be history. The COVID-19 pandemic has
impacted nearly everything this year, including the work we do protecting
historic places. Many National Trust Historic Sites were closed during the
busiest times of the year, so we experienced a disruption to crucial revenue
streams we rely on to support saving America's national treasures.

Despite such challenges, we are proud of the many accomplishments we achieved
this year and the commitments we made to historic places that require
protection. For instance, in 2020 we pledged to deepen our commitment to
recognizing and preserving places that tell the full American story.

We were honored and delighted to announce the permanent protection of Nina Simone’s childhood home in Tryon,
North Carolina, where the legendary musician and activist taught
herself to play the piano at age 3. It had fallen into disrepair and was in
danger of being lost. Thanks to friends like you, we secured a preservation
easement that permanently protects the home's authentic character, which will
carry on Nina Simone’s legacy for years to come.

Your gift makes work like this possible. We are deeply grateful that you believe
in saving places where history happened, where our values were forged, and where
future generations can go to gain a more complete understanding of our American
narrative.

Join today and your contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling
your support for historically significant places and the important stories they
tell.
