Dear John,

After four years of an administration that did everything it could to attack and marginalize our immigrant communities, 2021 looks hopeful. But for more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants in New York who live with the constant threat of deportation, the future is still uncertain. That is why in 2021, the NYIC will aggressively push for sweeping immigration reform, demanding permanent solutions that provide a clear path to citizenship for all immigrants, including Dreamers like our colleague Diana.

You may have seen Diana's story in a previous communication. Diana comes from a mixed-status family, and she was brought here as a child. In 2017, when Trump announced that he was ending DACA, Diana was an undergraduate in college studying public policy. Like her fellow Dreamers, at the time, Diana saw her goals and aspirations start to fade.

"I had no idea what it would mean for my future - I only knew that, despite being frightened for myself and my fellow Dreamers, we had to fight back."

In 2019, Diana joined the NYIC as a digital campaigner, and since then, she has advocated for immigrants like herself, especially fighting for the inclusions of immigrants in pandemic response policies. Because of passionate people like Diana and the support of generous donors like you, the NYIC has won many significant victories that have mobilized and strengthened immigrant power.

However, there is still much work to do. Please make a gift today! ([link removed])

We will fight:
* For a clear pathway to citizenship for the 11 million people in the United States who are currently undocumented.
* For asylum-seekers fleeing violence and upheaval by demanding Day 1 executive orders from the Biden Administration to repeal harmful policies like the Muslim ban.
* For immigrants and their families to finally be included in federal COVID relief efforts.

Thanks to your generosity, We. Will. Win! Thank you for standing with us to build a nation that values and welcomes immigrants and their contributions.

Sincerely,

Murad Awawdeh and Rovika Rajkishun
Interim Co-Executive Directors
