John,
In 2020, our parks and public lands have given us so much — physically, mentally, and spiritually — while asking so little of us in return. As this difficult year comes to an end, we urge you to show your support for the parks and public lands that support us.
If ever there were a time to act on your interest in creating parks and protecting public lands for people, it’s now. The Trust for Public Land has so much work to do to reclaim, repair, and restore the parks and public lands that have withstood so much neglect for so long.
When you make a tax-deductible year-end gift of $25 to The Trust for Public Land by December 31, one of our supporters will match your gift, dollar for dollar up to $250,000, to create parks and protect public lands for people. Your year-end gift of $25 will be doubled to $50.
Thanks to devoted members and supporters like you, together we turned a 19,200-acre site at Fishers Peak into Colorado’s newest state park … created 23 parks from San Francisco to St. Paul, and permanently protected 2,620 acres of remote and rugged forest along a stretch of the Appalachian Trail in northern Maine.
At the same time, we’ve begun urgent new projects nationwide, including creating community forests in Oregon and Vermont and protecting 128 acres on the doorstep of Saguaro National Park in Arizona from development.
These efforts are part of our goal to protect one million acres of land … create parks within a 10-minute walk of the five million Americans who currently don’t have access to one … and build 1,000 miles of trails.
With so much work ahead of us, we can’t afford to leave even one dollar of this generous $250,000 matching gift opportunity on the table. So please act now. Make your tax-deductible special contribution to The Trust for Public Land today, while it can be doubled.
Sincerely,
Kim Elliot
Senior Director of Annual Giving
