Yesterday, The New Republic published an offensive piece about Mayor Pete Buttigieg. While we understand that The New Republic has said they regret the publication and removed it from their website, the League of Conservation Voters is withdrawing our participation in the planned presidential primary candidate climate summit in New York this September. We believe this decision is keeping with our values. We will continue the important work of elevating the climate crisis in this primary and encouraging the candidates to be prioritizing solutions.
