Thinking ahead and need your help

Friend,

I wouldn’t normally email you on a Sunday. But our fiscal year ends in four days and I am thinking about what we need to get done between now and then.

It’s why I write with urgency. We have a goal to raise $20,000 before the end of the year, and we need your help. ([link removed][UNIQID])

2020 has been a critical year for human trafficking survivors. Thanks to your support, the Survivor Reentry Project has given 29 survivors a chance at a new life.

You see, many survivors are dealing with trauma from their trafficking experience. And the trauma is often made worse by a criminal record as a result of being forced into prostitution, theft or other criminal activity.

In other words, a trafficking survivor has often been abused and forced to engage in illegal activity, and is then slapped with a criminal record for actions they could not control. A criminal record that prevents them from getting a job or even joining their child’s field trip.

But your support can help change that by funding training for attorneys, who are then paired with survivors to get their criminal records cleaned up.

Your tax-deductible, year-end gift makes these life-changing opportunities possible ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

But that isn’t all… while a survivor is working to clear their record, we make available emergency relief grants to cover groceries, the electric bill, or even bus fare. Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve given $51,000 in grants to survivors to make it through a tough time. Your year-end support will also help ensure we can provide emergency relief for survivors who need it.

We set a goal of raising $20,000 about a month ago and thanks to the generosity of people like you, we’ve made great progress. But, we have about $8,000 left to go and I hope you can help ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

I have a list of survivors - people who were trafficked, taken advantage of, sometimes abused and often neglected - who are facing a crisis. Your year-end gift will make all the difference for them.

Can you give now? You can click here to donate. ([link removed][UNIQID])

We don’t have much time to meet this goal by midnight on the 31st, but with your generosity I am confident we can get there!

People like Claudia ... a human trafficking survivor who was hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 this summer … and didn’t have money to buy groceries for her kids… have benefited from your support.

But unless we meet our $20,000 goal, I might need to say “no” to 17 other survivors like Claudia.

If you are able, please give as generously as you can before midnight on December 31. We are so thankful for your partnership! ([link removed][UNIQID])

Thank you,

Jean Bruggeman
