John,
Here's the truth: if we are unable to make our fundraising numbers and sustain our campaign, our progressive movement could be left vulnerable in the next election cycle.
Campaigns like ours aren't built or sustained overnight — they require consistent, reliable support from the grassroots.
If you make your donation monthly, we'll even send you a free sticker:
We saw threats to progressive movements like ours in the 2020 election cycle with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib. After they won their seats in 2018, many questioned whether or not they'd be able to win again. All three of them faced tough challenges from Republican and political establishment insurgents who raised millions of dollars and unleashed attack ads.
And while AOC, Ilhan, and Rashida did manage to win their re-elections, the fact still remains: 88% of congressional races were won by the candidate who raised more money. And since the Democratic Party lost seats in the House this past election cycle, our opponents and the political establishment are keeping an even closer eye on our movement to see if we can keep up next time around.
Listen: we don't accept a single penny from corporate PACs and lobbyists, because those aren't the voices we want to prioritize in Washington. We're proud to be powered by supporters like you, chipping in when they can to power this movement.
As Jamaal gets ready to get sworn in to his first term of Congress, it's critical that we have the finances to ensure our movement is sustainable and continues to grow. That's why reaching our $15,000 goal by the end of the year is so important, John.
Thank you,
Jesse Guy-Herman, Finance Director
