John,
Even before the pandemic, millions of older adults were one crisis away from having to choose between keeping food on the table, medicine in the cabinet, or a roof over their heads. The moment COVID-19 landed on our shores, we started advocating on behalf of older adults.
Congress trusts our expertise. Our advocacy helped secure $730 million for meal delivery programs under the Older Americans Act and another $200 million for other services supporting older adults through senior centers and Area Agencies on Aging. |
We know there are solutions, and that’s why we’re going into 2021 with a plan to push the Biden Administration and Congress on 3 priorities in the next pandemic relief package:
- Ensure equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccine
- Expand job training and unemployment insurance for older workers
- Strengthen the social safety net for all Americans
Donate to support our advocacy efforts in 2021. With your help, we will fight for the programs that we all depend on as we age—Medicare and Social Security—as well as the programs that help those who need it the most, such as Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
