We lead - and win - because of our members. Members give us the energy, political power, vision, and voice to put riders first in San Francisco. At the beginning of the year, we asked our members what their transit priorities were for 2020. The number one member priority was equitable, long-term funding for public transit. If funding was a priority then, it's a matter of survival now. |
|
Members also wanted to fix the T Third, expand the network of transit-only lanes, and improve safety for riders. This year went very differently than anyone could have planned for, so we are extra proud that we delivered on all of these priorities. |

We have our work cut out for us in 2021. Unless we secure more emergency transit funding, Muni will be forced to make route cuts permanent and lay off the same front line workers who showed up to keep the region moving during the pandemic. We owe them better. Without new long-term funding, students and workers won't have a transit system to return to. Our streets will be even more inundated with cars, leaving those without transit alternatives even further behind. Instead, we believe transit can emerge as the cornerstone of a more sustainable, equitable future. We can build on our successes of the past year and our growing transit-first movement. But we need your help to achieve this vision. If you believe public transit is essential for our economic recovery, for opportunity and access, and for sustainability, please join the pro-transit movement today! It's never been more important. |
