John --
In a few moments, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to my United States Senate campaign before our FEC fundraising deadline in one week. This is an all-important test of our momentum -- which is why I’m reaching out. Will you let me explain?
Everybody from the press to Mitch McConnell to dark money groups and even Donald Trump will pore over our FEC fundraising report next week to see how much money we’ve raised and how strong our campaign is right now.
With three public polls in a row showing our campaign ahead of our Republican opponent, Thom Tillis, outside groups and special interests are already running ads.
They all know we can win this election next November because our message of taking on the political corruption plaguing Washington is resonating with voters -- and the numbers prove it. But any sign of weakness in our report will lead to new attacks from Mitch McConnell and his network of right-wing mega-donors.
We can’t rest easy. It’s going to be a steep climb to raise as much as we can in the next week, but I believe we can do it if enough of us come together over the next few days before we close out the quarter.
Now, here comes the part where I need to ask for your help:
Will you add a contribution of $10 or more to my campaign for United States Senate in North Carolina? We need to have a strong FEC report if we’re going to turn our state blue in 2020. Chip in today.
Ours is a campaign powered by a lot of people standing up for what’s right, not the corporate PACs that are already more than well-represented in Washington. I am running to take on the political corruption that stands in the way of progress on the most important issues of our time -- are you with me, John?
Thanks for reading. And thanks for all you do.
