By donating this year, you have an opportunity to take advantage of three unique tax benefits for your charitable gift. However, you need to act fast. There are just 5 days left to make your charitable donation count towards your 2020 tax deductions.
This year, you have three separate tax benefits to take advantage of:
1. Arizona Charitable Tax Credit
Get a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona State tax liability. You can receive up to $400 as an individual, or $800 for couples filing jointly. This credit can be reported using fund code 20726.
2. Arizona State Tax Deduction*
If you’re a non-itemizer, you may qualify for a 25% deduction to leverage BEYOND the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. This allows you to take a deduction on any dollars that exceed the Tax Credit value. *
3. Federal CARES Act Tax Deduction*
With new CARES Act dollars made available in 2020, claim up to $300 in cash contributions as a deduction from your gross income. This deduction will ultimately reduce the amount of taxable income. *
COVID-19 has devastated our community. When you donate, you activate change in Maricopa County. Your donation helps us fight inequities in education, hunger and homelessness, and gives students, families and neighbors impacted by the pandemic an opportunity to recover and rebuild in the months ahead.
*Charitable donations must be made by 12/31/2020 to be eligible for deductions on your 2020 taxes. Please consult your tax advisor for additional details or check out our tax benefits overview via the Donate Today button below. |
