Dear John,
Today is a busy day for many, so I'll keep this short. I need your help. More than 5 million people are living with Alzheimer's disease in the United States and 16 million family members and friends provide care — a group that keeps growing, unfortunately — and they need our help.
Alzheimer's insidiously impacted the Knight family, like so many other families, in the early '80s when their grandmother was diagnosed. It struck again more recently with another family member. But they're fighting back.

“After my mother was diagnosed, we turned to the Association for help. They gave me such support and shared how to best take care of her. Who could imagine that my husband would then be diagnosed with Alzheimer's as well?” –Joanne Knight |
The Knight family has stepped up to match all gifts made to this challenge, up to a total of $442,695. But first, we must raise that exact same amount by December 31. And that's just a few days away. The Knight family's gift will support local care and support programs, while your gift may be tax-deductible and will provide care and support, and advance research.

Thank you for joining our community. But, John, this is a critical time of year, and we won't succeed without your help. When you make a gift today, you'll:
- Fuel research investigating the causes of this devastating disease, the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. We'll help fund studies working toward methods of treatment, prevention and ultimately, a cure.
- Ensure that every hour of every day, when a caregiver or anyone impacted by Alzheimer's calls our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) a master's-level clinician is available to provide much needed resources and information.
- Fight to increase federal funding for Alzheimer's research, thanks to our network of advocates who work at the federal and state levels to encourage legislation that will improve the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
Our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support — depends on people like you. But this match is only available for a short time, so this is the perfect time to make your first gift to support the Association's crucial work. Please make your first gift now, while it can have twice the impact.
Alzheimer's doesn't stop, and neither do we.
Thank you,
Donna McCullough
Chief Field and Development Officer
P.S. Please make your gift of $16 today, while your impact can be doubled. Those who are affected by Alzheimer's draw healing and hope from the compassion of generous supporters like you. Thank you.
