Tell the Trump Administration to fix our infrastructure

Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao is being investigated for allegations that she’s used her position in the Trump Administration to benefit her family’s shipping company -- and honestly, I can’t say that I’m surprised.

This wouldn’t be the first time Chao has prioritized her family's interests over Americans’ needs.

For months, I’ve asked Chao to release funding for the Portal Bridge project -- which would replace a railroad bridge over the Hackensack River that carries roughly 450 trains per day. The project is shovel-ready: The funding is there, the permits are there -- we’re just waiting on Chao.

But even though Portal is ready to go, Chao has instead favored infrastructure projects in Kentucky -- the home state of her husband, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell -- to the tune of millions of dollars.

Chao and the Trump Administration have shown a complete disregard for the economic well-being of New Jerseyans.

Enough is enough. Sign your name and demand that Chao and the Trump Administration stop playing politics and get to work fixing our country’s infrastructure.

Thank you,

Mikie
