Our supporters made so many heart-filled donations this year which made our program impacts above and beyond. This exceeded our wildest expectations during a pandemic year and terrorizing administration. But you showed up and said compassion is tangible. You used your money to help people survive one of the most difficult years.
We are humbled. The majority of our donations were under $20 showing the power of smaller donations.
If everyone who reads this donates $10 before the end of the month, we'll be able to reach our goal of raising $10,000 before the end of the year! You can also donate on someone's behalf! Wouldn't that be a great holiday present!!
The more we raise, the more visibility Border Angels has, which in turn helps us expand our work. This helps us plan for the future, support staff across the US and Mexico, provide meals to those in need, and clean beds to shelters. It will help us continue making the weekly treks to the desert to leave water and food for migrants. You can help us ensure that day laborers can receive support and care.
Friendly reminder that all donations are tax deductible

If you didn't get a chance to make a donation, there is still time!

Make a difference and donate today.

Covid scares can shrink the size of our turnout from week to week. All of our team shares the mutual respect for each other to take off a weekend or two in case there’s possible chances of exposure to Covid.

Everyone who comes out understands this and picks up the slack for each other. It can happen to any of us, and the fact that everyone looks out for the mission is one of the greatest takeaways from this pandemic.

Instead of two routes on one day, we had two routes over two days, in separate counties.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to show up on a regular basis. Thank you everyone for reaching out about volunteering, your support and understanding during the pandemic. As soon as it’s safe for us to start taking larger groups, we will. Please stay tuned to our social media accounts and our weekly newsletter.

For any questions about Water Drops or our Water Drops during Covid, reach out to Water Drop Program Co-Director James Cordero, [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support!

** Familias Reunidas
Bond Program
------------------------------------------------------------

Another migrant has been released from detention! Our Familias Reunidas Program was able to help Faheem, an asylum seeker from Ghana, bond out of the Imperial Regional Detention Center located in Imperial County (just east of San Diego).

Faheem was in that immigrant prison for 4 months – he thanks everyone that has donated to the bond program. Because of YOU Faheem will be able to spend the holidays with his community, hopefully enjoying a delicious warm meal.

Sadly, our work doesn’t end there. There are thousands more migrants in detention and we need your help to continue helping them. So far we have helped over 65 migrants! Help us help more.

DONATE NOW!

One more person was released from detention thanks to your support!

Oumar, is a father and asylum seeker from Guinea, a country in West Africa. He was held at the immigration detention center in Imperial County, 2 hours east of San Diego for 1 year.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Familias Reunidas Bond Fund – because of you this father will be able to spend the holidays with his partner and their two young children. What a blessing!

Please, please help us spread the word about the bond fund. We need your help to raise more money. Immigration bond amounts can range from $1,500 to over $20,000!

** Court Case In Texas Shows DACA Program Remains Under Peril
------------------------------------------------------------
By: Juan A. Lozano, AP

"A Tuesday court hearing over a U.S. program shielding immigrants brought to the country illegally as children highlights the peril the program still faces even under an incoming Democratic president who has pledged to protect it.

A federal judge in Houston heard arguments from Texas and eight other states seeking to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, which provides limited protections to about 650,000 people, including some 100,000 Texans. Defending the program is a group of DACA recipients represented by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
Lawyers for the states argued that President Barack Obama overstepped his executive powers by creating the DACA program, and that he violated the Administrative Procedure Act."

** Immigrant Families Are Being Deported Without Their Asylum Claims Heard Lawfully, Advocates Say
------------------------------------------------------------
By: Adolfo Flores

"Federal immigration officials on Friday were preparing to deport a group of immigrant children and their parents who advocates said were unlawfully denied the opportunity to seek asylum.

The families, who have been detained by ICE for more than a year, were subjected to Trump administration policies that have since been blocked by federal courts ([link removed][UNIQID]) . Attorneys and advocates want these immigrants to go through a new process, without these policies being applied to them.

"They have been denied a fair process and as a result of this unlawful conduct these families, mothers and children, all face death or unspeakable violence," "
