Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 

There seems to be a lot of confusion over what was included in the COVID-19 relief package and annual government funding bill that was passed by Congress on Monday. 

Speaker Pelosi combined the COVID-19 relief package with the annual government funding bill to create one piece of legislation that was voted on by Congress. If Republicans were in charge, that would not have happened. Remember that Democrats have a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, meaning there are more elected Democrat members of Congress than Republican. This means that Democrats and Speaker Pelosi are in charge of making decisions, and Republicans are out-voted.
