Your year-end support will strengthen the movement for Palestinian rights

This year, I was so honored to join the amazing staff of AMP and contribute my knowledge of Capitol Hill to help build political power for AMP and Palestinian rights!

It is so heartening to see more and more grassroots supporters every day demanding that their elected officials support Palestinian rights and that more and more Members of Congress are listening and acting!

Check out this impressive list of advocacy accomplishments that we achieved together this year:

Home Demolitions

  • A House letter from March penned by Reps. Khanna, Cohen, and Eshoo against home demolitions, signed by more than 60 members of Congress.
  • A House letter from November penned by Rep. Pocan against home demolitions, signed by more than 40 members of Congress.

COVID-19

  • A Senate letter from March penned by Senators Van Hollen and Warren supporting humanitarian aid to Palestinians during COVID-19, co-signed by six other Senators.
  • A House letter from March penned by Representatives Pingree and Price supporting humanitarian aid to Palestinians during COVID-19, co-signed by 13 other members of Congress.
  • A House letter from April penned by Representative Dingell calling for a resumption of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the context of COVID-19, signed by 57 members.

Annexation

  • A House letter from June against Israel’s annexation of the West Bank, signed by 191 members of Congress.
  • A Senate letter from June against Israel’s annexation of the West Bank, signed by 18 Senators.
  • Legislation H.R. 8050 introduced in August by Rep. McCollum to prohibit  US recognition of Israel’s unilateral annexation of the West Bank, co-sponsored by 11 members of Congress.

Look, I’ll be honest with you. Despite the progress that we’ve made, we know we still have a long way to go to reorient US policy to support self-determination and liberation for the Palestinian people.

But we are getting there with your help. And next year, I’m excited to say, AMP will be launching an affiliated 501(c)(4) organization that will get involved in the electoral arena, backing politicians who support Palestinian rights.
