Yesterday, Donald Trump issued more pardons to people who do not deserve absolution, including:
- Roger Stone — Trump whisperer and man with Richard Nixon’s face tattooed on his back — who was convicted of witness tampering and lying to federal agents during the Mueller investigation into how Russia helped Trump become president.
- Paul Manafort — former Trump campaign manager and “renowned” lobbyist for assorted autocrats and dictators — who was convicted of obstruction of justice and witness tampering throughout the Mueller probe as well as a myriad of financial fraud and other crimes.
- Charles Kushner — father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner — who was convicted of tax evasion, campaign finance violations, and obstruction of justice (in connection with a sordid plot that involved hiring a prostitute he secretly videotaped his brother-in-law with then sending that tape to his sister).
This follows Trump’s pardoning, Monday night, of four men convicted for their roles — as employees of the private military contractor then known as Blackwater — in the slaughter of 14 Iraqi civilians in the 2007 Nisour Square massacre.
Who will Trump pardon next? His own children? Himself?
Tell Congress:
Pass legislation to (1) require transparency around pardons that may benefit the president or undermine Congress, (2) make pardons and commutations subject to federal anti-bribery laws, and (3) explicitly forbid presidents from pardoning themselves.
Add your name.
Thanks for taking action.
For justice,

P.S. For half a century, Public Citizen has been advancing policies that put the needs of everyday Americans before the greed of billionaires and Big Business. That legacy of progress and that ongoing work could not matter more right now, as our nation transitions to a Joe Biden presidency that will be as progressive as we — you and Public Citizen, together — make it.
Of course, we’re also busy undoing damage the Trump administration has already done and watching out for whatever shenanigans a lame-duck Donald Trump tries to get away with. And — like so many nonprofits and small businesses — we continue to experience financial strain related to the coronavirus pandemic.
If you can, please make an emergency donation today to support the critical work we’re doing together or even join our popular Monthly Giving program. Thank you.
