I’ll be honest team: We don’t have 165,000 individual donors yet. This is a crowded Democratic primary, and debates offer some of the only opportunities for an underdog campaign like ours to break through -- to get a chance to compete on a level playing field with those other campaigns that are raising tens of millions of dollars.
Debates are a chance to discuss our shared values -- criminal justice reform, universal health care, bold plans to tackle gun violence, reproductive justice, and legalization of marijuana at a federal level to name a few.
It’s no secret that our campaign is an underdog in the race. I’m used to being counted out -- we’ve seen it before when I ran for mayor of Newark. And we were doubted when we took on big challenges in the Senate. But we've always come together to win. Can you chip in today to help me qualify for future debates?
