2020 has been one of Clarion's most impactful years. The release of our film Covert Cash opened the floodgates to one of the largest investigations of university foreign funding in America’s history.

Clarion identified billions of dollars in donations from countries seeking to undermine the US, including Qatar, Russia, China and Saudi Arabia. Yet this is the tip of the iceberg in terms of huge foreign influence campaigns aimed at destabilizing America from overseas and from within.
 
We call it stealth extremism, extremism without terror and violence, yet just as effective.
 
Stealth extremism undermines democracy and our American values without the need for violence. Stealth extremism allows twisted ideologies to permeate social media and influence others who have lost their moral compass. Stealth extremism undermines the very fabric of America.

Clarion's new challenge is to uncover those individuals, organizations and countries that seek to destabilize America through social media, political influence and misinformation.
 
Extremist organizations use these three strategies very effectively to close down free speech and stifle conservative voices.
