Folks -- I’m not going to sugarcoat it: Donald Trump is coming after our health care.
Despite promising “insurance for everybody” and lower costs, Trump has tried repeatedly to repeal Obamacare and take away coverage from tens of millions of people.
-
Since taking office, he has driven up premiums, and the uninsured rate has increased for the first time since 2010.
-
More than 1 million more Americans are uninsured.
-
And if Trump is re-elected in 2020 and succeeds in overturning Obamacare -- tens of millions more Americans could be left without health insurance, and more than 100 million Americans with pre-existing conditions will be left without protections.
Here’s the thing: I know how hard it was to get Obamacare passed. So we can’t start over and we certainly can’t let it be overturned completely. That’s dangerous.
If you’re with me, let me know. My campaign is collecting 250,000 signatures of top Obamacare supporters that want to protect and then build on the landmark bill. Add your name here »
Look -- I was proud every day to serve as Barack Obama’s Vice President -- but never more than on the day we signed the Affordable Care Act.
It covered 20 million additional Americans. It prohibits insurance companies from increasing premiums or denying coverage for the over 100 million with pre-existing conditions, like cancer, diabetes, and asthma.
The Affordable Care Act was a historic achievement. And if I’m elected president, I’m going to do everything in my power to protect and build on it.
I have a plan that safeguards Obamacare and builds on it with a public option and other reforms to lower costs for prescription drugs and other out-of-pocket health costs. And folks, if you help me get to the White House I know we can make it the law of the land.
But, in the meantime, we have to protect the families all over this country that are afraid every day that Trump’s attacks will rip away their insurance. Can you be one of the 250,000 people to stand with them, and with me?
This fight is too important to lose,
Joe
