John,
I’m sure you’re getting a lot of emails asking for donations this time of year (including a few from us). We know not everyone is able to donate every time we ask, and that’s totally fine. We fight for the rights of every Internet user, whether you donate, take an action, make a call, follow us on social media, or just read our emails.
But if you are interested in supporting our work, we wanted to share these alternative ways to give:
-
Purchase a 1Password account: if you’re looking for a tool to help manage all your passwords, we suggest 1Password. It has a strict privacy policy, no in-app ads, and doesn’t track or analyze your data. Through our partnership, you can sign up for an individual, business, or family account, and a portion of the proceeds will come back to us.
-
Give a gift of stock: you can easily donate stocks, bonds, or mutual funds to support our work to defend your digital rights.
-
Throw us some bitcoin or other crypto: Fight was one of the first nonprofits to accept bitcoin, because we believe in the potential for cryptocurrencies as alternatives to Big Tech and Big Banks. Make a crypto donation to support all our work, including trying to protect crypto and help it grow.
-
Buy something from our store: We’ve recently dropped some new, exclusive merch in the Fight store. There are hats, shirts, masks, sweatshirts, stickers, and more. They make great gifts, or would be a great way for you to show your commitment to fighting for our rights in the digital age!
-
Get a VPN: many people are working from home, and we’re all doing more online. That’s why we suggest using a VPN to encrypt your usage and prevent your Internet provider from spying on what you do online. You can buy one for yourself, or for someone else (a great gift!), and 30% of the proceeds will go to Fight for the Future.
All of these options are great ways to fight with us. Feel free to reply with any questions about these opportunities.
And no matter how you support our work together, we’re thankful to have you with us!
Together,
Caitlin at Fight for the Future
