John,
At the 11th hour a Brexit deal has been agreed and that at least brings some certainty for our businesses ahead of the New Year. But our economy and our society will be poorer because of our damaging exit from the European Union.
That’s why this is a sad day but it’s also one that helps to solidify our values.
At the Green Party we believe in freedom, tolerance and inclusion. We want people to be able to work where they want to, learn where they want to and build relationships across borders.
Brexit means more restrictions on our freedoms and an erosion of our rights, but it also reminds us to redouble our efforts. To commit even more of our time and energy to protecting democracy, to championing equality and to standing up for what’s fair and just. |

We lose so much and gain so little from Brexit - but we won’t lose our values, this only makes them stronger.
