Dear Friend,
""Black people around the world are once again rising up. The same corporations and military that uniquely harm Black people in the United States play a role in repressing and killing Black people globally.""

I'm sure you'd join me in endorsing this message from the Movement for Black Lives earlier this year. *After all, you and I and countless others stepped up in support of Black lives in 2020.* We took to the streets in protest. We also took action for the Afro-descendent Garifuna, still under threat from the U.S.-backed authoritarian government.

The Garifuna have been particularly hard-hit this year. Since April, narco and military forces have murdered activists like Edwin Fernandez, terrorized villages, and abducted five community leaders. But in spite of terror, the Garifuna, including our partner the Black Fraternal Organization of Honduras (OFRANEH), remain unbowed. *Solidarity - from you and other Grassroots International activists - gives them strength.*

Even now, the Garifuna face threats to their livelihoods. Just weeks ago, climate change-charged hurricanes Eta and Iota flooded their crops and washed away their homes. *For them to rebuild their homes and defend their lives, whether from the storms of violent repression or coastal downpours, your increased support matters. That's why, though you haven't given before, I'm reaching out. *Would you consider making your "first donation to Grassroots International [ [link removed] ]" during our Solidarity Match campaign? Every gift received between now and December 31, up to $20,000, will be matched - doubling your impact!*

Black lives matter, whether in the U.S. or Honduras. Let's continue to step up [ [link removed] ] to make that slogan a reality, heading into 2021.
