Hi John,
The holiday season is a welcome respite for us all, no matter our faith or traditions. This year feels understandably different, with fractious political turmoil and a raging pandemic weighing on the nation. But while 2020 has been difficult for us all, we shouldn’t let the challenges of the last year detract from our ability to celebrate and enjoy this time for rest and peace.
For most of us, our travels and traditions will be different. But we must hold on to the spirit of the season, and find creative ways to safely celebrate with our friends, families, and communities. We have persevered through near unprecedented challenges, and while there are still hard times ahead of us, we know that relief, on many fronts, is coming in the new year.
Whether it’s the wide-scale roll out of a life saving vaccine, or the inauguration of new, unifying leadership in the White House, our reasons for optimism in 2021 stem from the hard work of patriotic Americans in 2020.
As we take time with family this holiday season, we should remember that while we cannot predict or prevent every challenge we might face, we always have the ability to overcome them when we are united in our purpose.
No matter our faith, or even our politics, the notion that our strength is derived from our unity is woven throughout the fabric of America. So while we may be physically distant this year, we must remember that we are not alone.
Wishing all the Stand Up Republic community a peaceful and joyous holiday season, and looking forward to coming together in 2021 and beyond.
