Friend,
From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to wish you and yours a happy holiday season.
This is a special time of the year for so many, including my family and me. The warmth you can feel from good conversation and delicious food, the warmth of making new memories with loved ones – it's priceless.
But here's the thing, friend: This year has been heavy. Tough. Exhausting emotionally and mentally. And for folks who are going through the worst of it, the holidays don't always offer a reprieve. The holidays don't magically provide a living wage or deliver the affordable health care or prescription that somebody may need.
If that's you – if you're really going through it this season, friend – I see you. I'm still fighting for you. I'm praying for you and wishing you only warmth, love and healing.
I have hope for the year to come. Hope for anybody who works hard to actually stay ahead. Fair wages. A country where health care isn't out of reach. That's what this grassroots team fought for, and what we'll make possible with our Democratic House majority and the Biden administration.
It hasn't been easy getting to this juncture. But here we are. Looking forward – and I don't know about you, but I can see some brightness ahead – it's up to us to unleash it and enact the bold, bright agenda that will put America back on the right path.
Onward, together, friend. It's been such an honor to have you fighting alongside me this year, and I won't ever forget everything you and this team helped me accomplish. See you in the new year.
All my best,
Congresswoman Val Demings
