For months, Republicans have pushed the narrative that Medicare for All will raise costs and taxes on middle class families. That is flat out wrong.
Nearly every independent study on the impacts of Medicare for All show that it will reduce health care expenditures overall. And Medicare for All doesn’t call for higher taxes on middle class families, but can be funded by premiums on employers, the wealthy, and progressive taxation.
So why is Pete Buttigieg using Republican talking points to spread misinformation about Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders? Democrats are already fighting against the health care lobby to end this for-profit system that leaves millions without care every year — we don’t need other Democrats doing the work of corporate lobbyists for them.
The days of half-measures are over. In a modern, moral, and wealthy democracy, no American should be refused health care because they can’t afford it.
The challenges of our era demand bold solutions that rise to the challenges that we face — not cowardice in the face of Republican talking points. Together, we’re building a movement that can deliver the change that we all deserve.
Glad to have you on our side.
