Friend,

I wanted to make sure I caught you before many of us start to sign off for the holiday festivities. No matter how you're celebrating this year, I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season.

I know many of us can't or have chosen not to be with our loved ones right now. But if I learned anything this year, it's that Richmonders are resilient. When a historic crisis came knocking on our door, so many of you stepped up. People continually gave a helping hand to their neighbors, offered kindness in the face of fear, and selflessness when people needed it the most.

I am so proud of this city. And although we face many challenges — old and new — in the new year, I know we will build our city back stronger and get through this together.
