Friend -- Over the last decade, partisan politicians in states like Georgia have worked relentlessly to suppress the vote by gerrymandering districts, instituting voting restrictions, and unnecessarily purging voter rolls.

But this January, we have a chance to make real change in Georgia and in our country.

The House is planning to reintroduce the For the People Act (H.R. 1) during the next Congress. This historic piece of legislation would outlaw partisan gerrymandering at the congressional level and safeguard our democracy.

We need a government that's fair where representatives listen to their constituents. H.R. 1 would help make that a reality -- not only by ending partisan gerrymandering at the congressional level, but also by protecting our democracy with strong reforms on government ethics, corruption, and laws to keep big money out of politics.

When I talk to folks, there's a resounding feeling amongst voters that their government isn't listening to them. They know that some people in government are only looking out for their own bottom line and for special interests rather than representing the people they're supposed to serve and putting their needs and interests first.

The obstruction to our democracy that people experience in Georgia and other states is immense. The American people would benefit immensely from ending voter suppression, passing a new Voting Rights Act, and making the commonsense democracy reforms of H.R. 1 the law of the land.

Gerrymandered districts are a rigged game. Ending this anti-democratic practice should be one of our first priorities. Will you make a donation to the Georgia Democratic Party and All On The Line as they fight to make sure the next Congress is well-positioned to pass this bill?
