Team,

The House and the Senate have both reached an agreement and passed much-needed COVID-19 relief for Americans.

The relief package includes federal unemployment insurance, direct payment checks, and funding for the Paycheck Protection Program and vaccine distribution.

It's a start, but there is still work to be done to get our communities the support they need. The next relief bill must include additional support for families, small businesses, frontline workers, and funding for our local cities and towns.

While I'm relieved that Congress came together for a bipartisan solution to address our nation's economic and public health crisis, it should never have taken this long to pass a relief bill. It's been eight months since the last relief bill was passed, and this package is coming at the very last minute.

This compromise is a step in the right direction, but our work isn't over. The COVID-19 pandemic will continue to impact our lives throughout the next year, and I am committed to working hard in Congress with anyone -- Republican or Democrat -- to pass additional relief that gives Granite Staters the support they need to get through this pandemic.

Thank you,

Chris
