Dear John xxxxxx,

Members, friends, and allies like you motivate everyone here at ARC -- especially in a year as challenging as 2020. The crises facing our nation this year put a spotlight on issues of mass incarceration, racism, and health equity and reinvigorated our fight for a more equitable and just world.

ARC’s work to empower currently and formerly incarcerated people has never been more important, and I hope you will consider a generous year-end donation ([link removed]) to help fuel our work transforming the criminal justice system.

Below are some of the specific ways we supported our 1,600+ Members in 2020:
* We introduced our community to new experiences. ARC kicked off 2020 with our Annual Retreat in Big Bear, with over 200 Members in attendance. This was an especially notable experience, as we were surrounded by community and snow – many people, for the first time!

* We seamlessly transitioned to virtual programming. Within a week of our offices shutting down due to COVID-19, our incredible staff shifted all programs to virtual platforms, including one-on-one therapy and counseling sessions. Every week over 15 virtual support groups are held on Zoom.

* We provided much needed financial assistance to Members, who were hit hard from the economic challenges of the pandemic. With the support of our incredible Board of Directors and allies, and through a collaboration of fellow justice reform nonprofits and generous foundations, ARC and partners provided over $1 million in COVID-19 relief funds and Returning Citizen Stimulus to members and newly released people.

* We continued to provide ride-homes from California prisons and jails. Through ARC’s Ride Home Program, we provided over 250 rides home from California prisons and jails. We provided transportation for a wide range of incarcerated individuals including lifers, short term releases, early COVID releases, commutations, and resentenced individuals.

We couldn’t do this incredible work without your support, and I hope you’ll stand with us by making a gift today. ([link removed])
