John,
In the nine months that have gone by since Congress passed the CARES Act,
the pandemic has grown only more devastating — putting millions of
Americans out of work and leaving people struggling to keep a roof over
their heads and food on the table.
The $600 stimulus check included in the Mitch McConnell-approved relief
package is nowhere near enough.
But after months of sitting on his hands, Donald Trump is finally calling
for Congress to approve a stimulus package that includes $2,000 checks.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are already
on board, too. Pelosi is calling for unanimous consent to pass an
amendment increasing the stimulus amount to $2,000. If it passes, this
could be on the Senate floor as early as tomorrow.
This is a moment of maximum leverage that we cannot afford to miss. We
need to put as much public pressure as we can on Mitch McConnell over the
next 24 hours to pass a bill that includes $2,000 stimulus checks.

This is real money that could make a difference for millions of Americans
right now. That's why we have to give it everything we have to push this
amendment over the finish line immediately.
Thank you for raising your voice in this fight,
