Hello friend,
Before we close out 2020, I wanted to wish you and your loved ones a safe and healthy holiday season from everyone here at the Human Rights Campaign.
I know this time of year can be tough for many in our community, and I know that COVID-19 has only made things tougher. Please know that this season — and all parts of the year — you are on our minds and in our hearts. Thank you for being part of the Human Rights Campaign family!
As I reflect on all that has happened over the past several months, I cannot help but find extraordinary pride in all that members and supporters like you have made possible. We showed our power in legislative bodies, courthouses, the courts of public opinion and at the ballot box.
Throughout it all, we leaned into our community’s strength, fortified by generations of resilience and determination, and accomplished good whenever we could. From pro-equality laws passed to pro-equality candidates elected, you showed up at every turn and, in spite of all the obstacles we faced, you helped us live into our best values — launching new initiatives and programming to break down barriers and to empower the most marginalized. I am so grateful, thank you.
Now, we must look to 2021 and ready ourselves for the critical work ahead. There is much to do, but I know our future is bright because we have one thing our opponents do not: you by our side.
Thank you for being in our corner and for making the deliberate choice to be part of the LGBTQ civil rights movement. Happy holidays to you and yours!
In Unity,
