Three of CCL's 'supporting ask' bills pass Congress in omnibus bill
Go ahead, CCL volunteers, and take a victory lap for the hand we played
in some of the climate solutions that passed in Congress

this week.
Tucked inside the massive relief and spending legislation approved in
the House and Senate are provisions from a number of climate-related
bills, including three measures that CCL has supported as "supporting
asks" in lobby meetings over the last two years.
Thanks in part to support that CCL generated for the BEST Act, USE IT
Act and Climate-Ready Fisheries Act, we'll start to see greater progress
on energy storage, carbon capture and climate adaptation in the nation's
fisheries.
"Inclusion of these bills shows that CCL's lobbying has an impact," said
CCL Director of Government Affairs Ben Pendergrass. "It shows that
bipartisanship does work and is necessary to get things done."
The omnibus bill awaits the president's signature.
Looking ahead to the new administration and Congress, the work CCL
volunteers did to bring Republicans and Democrats together on these
climate solutions will be key in efforts to move even bigger solutions
across the finish line.
"Every success makes it easier to get to the next step," said
Pendergrass.

Farewell to Rep. Francis Rooney: Republican Rep. Francis Rooney has been
a leader in his party when it comes to climate, by cosponsoring the
Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act and introducing carbon pricing
legislation of his own. As he leaves Congress, please take a minute to
