The American people don’t have time for petty political games, Friend.
We’re in the midst of the worst public health and economic crisis in a century. And yet, hours after Congress passed emergency bipartisan COVID relief, President Trump -- who was notably (if unsurprisingly) absent from the negotiations -- called for $2,000 in direct relief for the American people.
It’s a bit like whiplash. Republicans have spent the last year fighting for less and less direct relief for the American people. But, hey, if they’ve finally come around to giving Americans the help they need, we’re here for that. It’s time to act, immediately, and pass an amendment to send Americans $2,000.
But until Majority Leader McConnell actually takes action, you can bet this is just more empty talk and political games. Sick of it? Us, too. And you know how you can help us fight back and take back the Senate.
Onward,
Team Schumer
