You can welcome a refugee family to their new home.
Dear Friend,
It was not an easy year.
In 2020, USCRI's work with refugees and immigrants became more important than ever. Hundreds of our clients lost their jobs, contracted COVID-19, and struggled with paying the bills and keeping their families healthy. They turned to USCRI for help.
I am so proud of our staff and volunteers who responded tirelessly and with great dedication, and I am grateful to our donors who made this work possible under difficult circumstances.
Thanks in part to your generosity, over the past year USCRI...
Welcomed 2,945 refugees to the U.S.
Helped 1,500 trafficking survivors rebuild their lives
Provided emergency cash assistance to 1,000 people
Ensured that 6,000 refugees had access to health care
Provided legal assistance to 1,866 people
We are now in the middle of our year-end fundraising campaign and I am asking for your support. The campaign’s theme is “It Takes a Nation.”
It takes a nation to welcome the men, women, and children from around the world who have fled persecution and unspeakable violence.
It takes a nation to stay true to our American values of fairness, justice, and an equal chance for all.
It takes a nation to disregard the falsehoods about immigrants that are so prevalent these days, and to welcome - rather than scorn - the "other."
That nation starts with you.If you are in a position to give, I humbly ask you to make a gift to USCRI today. With your donation, you'll be welcoming your new neighbors from Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burma, Iraq, Ukraine, and dozens of other countries. They can't wait to join this great nation themselves.
With gratitude and warm wishes for the holiday season,
Eskinder Negash
President and CEO
